Academic career and research
Dr. Ing. Christos Georgoulas received the B.Eng. Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering on June 2002 and the M.Sc. Degree in Embedded Systems Engineering on September 2003 from the Department of Computing & Electrical Engineering, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland, and his Ph.D. Degree in the field of Stereo Vision from the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace, Greece on 2010. He is member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE). As a Ph.D. candidate he was one of the Principal Researchers in an International Research project (European, FP6 Funded, RESCUER) in the field of Real-time Machine Vision Systems.
Since October 2011, he is employed by the TU München, as a Research Associate and Lecturer in the Chair for Building Realization and Robotics.
His research interests are mainly Real-time FPGA-based System Design, development of Real-time Software Algorithms, Embedded Systems, Intelligent Machine Vision Systems, Real-time Stereovision, 3D Reconstruction, SLAM, Image Processing, Robotics, Ambient Assisted Living.
