Academic career and research
The research activities of Prof. Bock (b. 1957) focus on the automation and robotization in construction, from planning through construction production and use phase to the rebuilding and restoration. In these areas he has published more than 300 refereed publications in book chapters, international journals and conferences. After studying architecture at the University of Stuttgart and the IIT in Chicago, he graduated from the University of Tokyo. He is also Director of the International Association for Automation and Robotics in Construction, Eindhoven, the Asian Habitat Society in Beijing and the International Institute of Information Construction in Tokyo. As a consultant, he is in the Ministère de l'Emploi, de la Cohesion Sociale et du Logement operating in France and is active as a member of the Academy of Architecture and Building Sciences, the Academy of Sciences Petrovischen and the Academy for computer science in Belarus. In addition, Professor Bock's editorial staff member of "Robotica", "Automation in Construction," of the "International Journal of Construction Management" and the magazine "ACADEMY".
